Whether its a small bedroom or an office nook, many homes have small rooms that are challenging to decorate. Don’t dream of more square footage. Instead, use these 4 tips to make your space more usable and trendy while incorporating your own style.
My 4 Tips
- Create a Focal Point: Designing without a focal point can make your space look cluttered. Try arranging a stand out feature at the center of the room. Organize a gallery wall with several of your favorite photos or hang one attention-grabbing piece of art
- Raise your Decor Up: If you’re lacking high ceilings try using tall floor lamps and curtains to elongate your walls. Also try installing vertical shelves closer to the ceiling instead of at eye level to give the illusion on height.
- Make it Bright: Use sheer curtains to let the sun shine in and put a mirror on the opposite wall to reflect the light. If your space doesn’t have windows try to incorporate overhead lighting with bright bulbs in the fixtures.
- Add Decorative Storage: When your room is cluttered with stuff, it tends to feel smaller. Use your walls for storage by installing hooks or racks to give your items a rightful place.
